From the <\/em>Bisbee Daily Review, January 25, 1913<\/em><\/a>.<\/em>\n By Roy K. Moulton.<\/em>\n \n\n Old Ez Jones don\u2019t chaw tobacker, for he quit on New year\u2019s day,\n And he\u2019s grouchy as a grizzly with an achin\u2019 tooth, they say.\n Henry Perkins, he quit smokin\u2019 and he feels so tarnal mean\n That he\u2019s tried to start a scrap with every feller he has seen.\n So old Ez and Hank they chanced to meet one day in Tibbitt\u2019s store,\n And we saw a scrap the like of which we\u2019d never seen before,\n For they broke up all the furniture and knocked the stovepipes down\n And they\u2019ve both been laid up ever since and livin\u2019 on the town.\n \n Abner Hanks has quit hard cider and he is so all fired cross\n That his wife has thrashed him seven times to show him who is boss.\n Amos Higgins cut out swearin\u2019 and gives his feelings vent\n He has booted all the cats and dogs wherever he has went.\n Deacon Stubbs has sued Hi Maskins and Hi has sued the Deac\n On their old time line fence squabble and their families don\u2019t speak.\n Both have swore off takin\u2019 snuff and both are out for war,\n But they neither of \u2018em seem to know just what they\u2019re lawin\u2019 for.\n \n Old Squire Hibbard has been busy tryin\u2019 suits and fixin\u2019 bail,\n And there\u2019s sixteen cases waiting and there\u2019s twenty men in jail.\n Never seen such scand-lus doin\u2019s in this little village, quite.\n Seems like everybody\u2019s peevish and is looking for a fight.\n Some is nervous, some is gloomy, some is desperit and so\n It doesn\u2019t seem like the same old town we allus used to know.\n But I guess she will get righted and congenial when the men\n Who have all been swearin\u2019 off start in to swearin\u2019 on again.<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
