Kiser.<\/em>\n \n\n \u201cOh, what\u2019s our country coming to?\u201d The trade restrainer cried,\n \u201cWhat may a man hereafter do to bring him wealth and pride?\n They\u2019re sending millionaires to jail and fining them because\n They happen now and then to fail to keep within the laws.\n \u00a0 \u00a0 It\u2019s awful, simply awful!\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Have the judges gone insane?\n \u00a0 \u00a0 Once a thing was always lawful\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 If it brought sufficient gain;\n But they\u2019re scolding men of millions for the methods they pursue\n And they\u2019re sending them to prison\u2014what\u2019s the country coming to?\n \n\n \u201cWe keep attorneys who should know how far we may proceed\u2014\n How far it may be safe to go in satisfying greed;\n They point the loopholes out, they find the technicalities\n And yet the courts are not inclined to listen to our pleas!\n \u00a0 \u00a0 It\u2019s frightful, simply frightful!\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Have the judges lost their wits?\n \u00a0 \u00a0 Have they suddenly grown spiteful\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 That they wish to give us fits?\n They are fining men of millions\u2014that would bother very few\u2014\n But they\u2019re sending us to prison! What\u2019s the country coming to?\n \n\n \u201cWe\u2019ve got to have another deal. That\u2019s getting very plain;\n Why, even now, when we appeal it sometimes is in vain;\n This can\u2019t go on\u2014the thing must cease!
