He\u2019s a sight to behold;\n \u00a0 \u00a0 An\u2019 his life\u2014he wants some wan to fill it.\n Instead o\u2019 being crowded wid blessin\u2019s untold,\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u2019Tis as empty an\u2019 dry as a skillet.\n A short while ago he was gay as a lark,\n \u00a0 \u00a0 An\u2019 the boss was his wages advancin\u2019;\n Till he strolled of a Sunday to see Celtic Park\n \u00a0 \u00a0 An\u2019 join in the games an\u2019 the dancin\u2019.\n \u2019Twas when he took part in an eight-handed reel\n \u00a0 \u00a0 And danced, as they all tell me, so splendid,\n His head remained clear, not to mention his heel,\n \u00a0 \u00a0 But his heart was clean gone when \u2019twas ended.\n A pair o\u2019 blue eyes was Pat Clancy\u2019s downfall;\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u2019Tis a sorrowful mortal they\u2019ve made him.\n He\u2019s cut all his friends an\u2019 relations an\u2019 all,\n \u00a0 \u00a0 An\u2019 he won\u2019t take a drink if you paid him.\n The boss of his gang, from the town o\u2019 Kanturk\n \u00a0 \u00a0 Don\u2019t know what to make out o\u2019 Clancy;\n Says the divil himself couldn\u2019t keep him to work\n \u00a0 \u00a0 Wid sighin\u2019 for the girl of his fancy.\n An\u2019 \u2019tis all for a purty young colleen from Clare\u2014\n \u00a0 \u00a0 She hails from the border of Ennis.\n Well, if that\u2019s what\u2019s called love, for my part I declare\n \u00a0 \u00a0 Sure I\u2019d rather have spinal magennis.<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Pat Clancy\u2019s in love!
