Let others work and lose their health
In piling up the sordid wealth,
    But that is not my wish.
Let others burn the midnight oils,
Devising ways of grabbing spoils;
    I\u2019d rather sit and fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let others solve the problems great,
Affecting the affairs of state;
    None of that on my dish.
Let others hew the nation\u2019s path
And bear the thankless public\u2019s wrath,
    I\u2019d rather sit and fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let others lead the strenuous life
That\u2019s full of worry, toil and strife,
    But that\u2019s not my ambish.
Let others wear their lives away
By living five years every day;
