Old-fashioned folks! God bless \u2018em all!
    The fathers an\u2019 the mothers,
The aunts an\u2019 uncles, fat an\u2019 tall,
    The sisters an\u2019 the brothers.
The good old-fashioned neighbors, too\u2014
    The passing time improves \u2018em,
They still drop in to chat with you
    Whene\u2019er the spirit moves \u2018em.
The simple, unaffected folks
    With gentle ways an\u2019 sunny,
        The brave and true
        That live life through
    And stay unspoiled by money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old-fashioned folks, of solid worth,
    On them a benediction!
The joy an\u2019 comfort of the earth,
    Its strength, without restriction.
The charm of every neighborhood
    The toilers uncomplaining,
The men an\u2019 women, pure and good
    Of fine and honest graining.
The plain and open-hearted folks
    That make no fad a passion,
        The kind an\u2019 fair
        That do an\u2019 dare
    An\u2019 are not slaves to fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old-fashioned folks, that live and love
    And give their service gladly,
An\u2019 deem their neighbors worthy of
    Their help when things go badly.
The simple sharers of our joys,
    Sweet ministers in sorrow,
They help the world to keep its poise
    An\u2019 strength for each tomorrow.
The simple, unaffected folks
    That live for all about \u2018em,
        God bless \u2018em all,
        This earthly ball
