From the <\/em>Harrisburg Telegraph, May 6, 1914<\/em><\/a>. By Wing Dinger.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They make-a greata beega noise
    In deesa town to-day,
Da crowds all leesten to da tune
    Da beega brass band play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ask, \u201cWhat ees dees fuss about,
    Why do dey yell hurray?\u201d
And some one tell me, \u201cWhy, you boob,
    Da season starts to-day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I follow to da park dey call
    Da baseball field, and pay
My leetle quart for one small tick
    To see da two teams play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da players throw da ball about;
    Da crowds dey yell and shout;
Some times da man day call da \u201cump\u201d
    Says \u201csafe,\u201d and sometimes \u201cout.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when he say \u201cyou\u2019re safe\u201d to one
    Of da home team, he\u2019s right,
But if he say \u201cyou\u2019re out,\u201d da bunch
    Gets mad enough to fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wouldn\u2019t want to be da ump,
    He\u2019s got one nasty job;
No matter what he says da crowd
    Calls him one great beeg slob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But seeng of love for chickens, cows
    And war, with all eets strife,
To seet upon da bleachers at
