By Lone Wolf.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The miners brave in Ludlow town,<br\/>By scabby gunmen were shot down,<br\/>When hunger\u2019s pangs made them rebel<br\/>Against their daily, living hell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Oh! Workers, rally to their aid!<br\/>Honor the stand the miners made!<br\/>Shall all their efforts be in vain<br\/>And gunmen\u2019s bullets end their pain?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The gunmen poured in by the score<br\/>To welter in the miner\u2019s gore;<br\/>With rifle, torch and Gatling gun,<br\/>These murderous thugs did riot run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>They murdered babes and women, too,<br\/>Those hell-hounds, cursed, the pirate crew;<br\/>While Oily John, with smile benign<br\/>Said, \u201cGod is good to me and mine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI own this country,\u201d said John D.;<br\/>\u201cBack to the mines and slave for me!<br\/>If you dare go on strike for bread<br\/>My brave Militia will feed you lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI own the land, I own the mines,<br\/>Rail, steel and oil, the sun that shines;<br\/>I own the Press, the Church, the State,<br\/>From Mexico to the Golden Gate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The miners now, in bitter strife<br\/>Are fighting hard to maintain life.<br\/>Come workers now, from every land,<br\/>And give our Comrades there a hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Let Revolution\u2019s dawn awake!<br\/>The world for the workers\u2019 take!<br\/>Let \u201cColorado\u201d be our cry;<br\/>The time has come to win or die.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From The Voice of the People, July 14, 1914.
