By Rudyard Kipling.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>If we knew the cares and trials,<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Knew the efforts all in vain,<br\/>And the bitter disappointment,<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Understood the loss and gain\u2014<br\/>Would the grim eternal roughness<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Seem\u2014I wonder\u2014just the same;<br\/>Should we help where now we hinder,<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She we pity where we blame?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Ah!
