{"id":8449,"date":"2022-09-10T01:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-10T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newspaperhistory.com\/?p=8449"},"modified":"2022-09-10T01:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-09-10T05:00:00","slug":"when-some-one-cares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/desperaudio.com\/newspaperpoetry\/when-some-one-cares\/","title":{"rendered":"When Some One Cares"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>From the <a href=\"https:\/\/chroniclingamerica.loc.gov\/lccn\/sn91064011\/1914-09-10\/ed-1\/seq-6\/\">Newark Evening Star, September 10, 1914<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>When you meet some disappointment, an\u2019 yer feelin\u2019 kinda blue;<br\/>When yer plans have all got sidetracked er some friend has proved untrue;<br\/>When yer toiling, praying, struggling at the bottom uv the stairs\u2014<br\/>It is like a panacea\u2014jest to know that some one cares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Some one who can appreciate one\u2019s efforts when he tries;<br\/>Some one who seems to understand\u2014an\u2019 so can sympathize;<br\/>Some one who, when he\u2019s far away, still wonders how he fares\u2014<br\/>Some one who never can forget\u2014some one who really cares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>It will send a thrill of rapture through the framework uv the heart;<br\/>It will stir the inner bein\u2019 till the tear drops want to start;<br\/>For this life is worth the livin\u2019, when some one yer sorrow shares\u2014<br\/>Life is truly worth the livin\u2019, when you know that some one cares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, this world is not all sunshine\u2014many day\u2019s hard clouds disclose;<br\/>There\u2019s a cross for ev\u2019ry joy bell, an\u2019 a thorn for ev\u2019ry rose;<br\/>But the cross is not so grievous, ner the thorn the rosebud wears\u2014<br\/>An\u2019 the clouds have silver linin\u2019s\u2014when some one really cares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the Newark Evening Star, September 10, 1914.
