Montague.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The kid that lives next door to me<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Is talkin\u2019 mighty queer.<br\/>He says that Santa Claus won\u2019t be<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A-comin\u2019 round this year.<br\/>He says we\u2019re poorer than we was<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;An\u2019 that\u2019s why he is sure<br\/>That Santa Claus won\u2019t come, because<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;He doesn\u2019t like the poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>I guess I know we\u2019re poor, all right.<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;My dad ain\u2019t got no job,<br\/>An\u2019 all my mother does at night<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Is lay awake an\u2019 sob.<br\/>But I should think old Santa\u2019d know<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;That \u2018count o\u2019 this here war<br\/>Us kids that\u2019s boosted for him so<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Would need him all the more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>He must be rich as rich can be,<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;For every Christmas day<br\/>The papers tells about how he<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Gives loads o\u2019 toys away.<br\/>I ain\u2019t expectin\u2019 him to bring<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A very awful lot,<br\/>But gee!
