Kiser.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>A year is gone forever,<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;But out beyond us lies<br\/>A year for brave endeavor<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And splendid enterprise<br\/>Where honors are awaiting<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The worthy and the wise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>There shall be love and mating,<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And truth shall still be good;<br\/>There shall be less of hating<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And more of Brotherhood,<br\/>And right shall be more clearly<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And fairly understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The new year shall not merely<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Bring added age to those<br\/>Who value virtue dearly<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And strive as Vice\u2019s foes,<br\/>But Justice shall more nearly<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Yield honest men repose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the Omaha Daily Bee, January 1, 1915.
