By The Bentztown Bard.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Lots of complainin\u2019 wherever you go<br\/>Of people not gettin\u2019 the kind of a show<br\/>They think life owes \u2018em, while others cry<br\/>The best things always keep passin\u2019 \u2018em by,<br\/>And this isn\u2019t right, and that\u2019s all wrong,<br\/>But down in my heart there\u2019s an old, sweet song<br\/>That brings me the lesson, mid all it sings,<br\/>That the Lord in his heaven\u2019s still runnin\u2019 things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>I wouldn\u2019t go crazy with grief and care<br\/>Even if things went a little square\u2014<br\/>As all things will in their time and place\u2014<br\/>For I\u2019ve always found there\u2019s the same old grace<br\/>And beauty and comfort in loss and pain,<br\/>As there is in moments of triumph and gain\u2014<br\/>In the feelin\u2019 and trust and believin\u2019 that rings<br\/>Through the thought that the Lord is still runnin\u2019 things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>I pity the sorrowful, God knows that,<br\/>And to those who suffer I doff my hat;<br\/>And I try to be tender to those whose cross<br\/>Is heavy to bear in this world of loss;<br\/>But I can\u2019t believe, as I list to the song<br\/>Of the sweet old faith, that a thing goes wrong<br\/>Without some blessin\u2019 that ere long brings<br\/>The thought that the Lord is still runnin\u2019 things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the Rock Island Argus, February 11, 1915.
