By Lillian MacDonald.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Dear child, I\u2019ve brought a toadstool,<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It\u2019s a table for our feast,<br\/>And a cowslip (such a bargain\u2014<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Worth three daisies at the least!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>With five small cups upon it,<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Full of sparkling, shining dew,<br\/>And of violets for perfume<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;We will scatter just a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve pollen in a rose leaf;<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Other dainties, more or less;<br\/>For it takes such choice refreshments<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;To make parties a success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Please come at half past midnight;<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I\u2019ll send Glowworm to attend.<br\/>Until supper time, believe me,<br\/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Your devoted Fairy Friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From The Sun, May 9, 1915.
