{"id":9668,"date":"2020-12-11T01:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-11T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/poetry.newspaperhistory.com\/?p=161"},"modified":"2020-12-11T01:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-12-11T06:00:00","slug":"ad-infinitum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/desperaudio.com\/newspaperpoetry\/ad-infinitum\/","title":{"rendered":"Ad Infinitum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\"><em>From the <a href=\"https:\/\/chroniclingamerica.loc.gov\/lccn\/sn99021999\/1912-12-11\/ed-1\/seq-6\/\">Omaha Daily Bee, December 11, 1912<\/a>.<\/em>\n \n\n Most everybody\u2019s busy\u2014\n \u00a0 \u00a0 I pity him that ain\u2019t\u2014\n There are millions and millions of dolls to dress,\n \u00a0 \u00a0 And millions of pictures to paint;\n There are millions of knots of ribbon to tie\n \u00a0 \u00a0 And millions of loops to crochet;\n And the days and hours are galloping on\n \u00a0 \u00a0 Right up to Christmas Day.\n \n There are infinite numbers of bundles to wrap\n \u00a0 \u00a0 And millions of greetings to write;\n If we should attempt to count them all\n \u00a0 \u00a0 The figures would climb out of sight.\n And think of the millions of parcels to tie\n \u00a0 \u00a0 And the millions of stickers to stick \u2018em.\n And think of the millions and billions of stamps\n \u00a0 \u00a0 That are waiting for people to lick \u2018em.\n \n There\u2019ll be millions and millions of tapers bright\n \u00a0 \u00a0 All over this great U.
